Internet Distraction

Many jobs and research projects require a constant connection with your co-workers or classmates. There are many ways to deal with distractions. Here are the few steps for you to get started:

1)Plan your time online:     It is important to sit down and think about what you are going to do while you are online. There are many websites that you might be using but to be very productive there should be priorities.

2) Separate your work and entertainment:      OK,  this shouldn’t be hard to do. Make a list of all tasks you have to do , make a separate list of all thing you like to do while online. This will give you a clear picture of what are you really doing online and it will help you manage your work and time.

3)Turn off all notifications:     You don’t need to keep checking your news feed or your friend’s activity on Facebook. These prevent you focusing on your work.

4) Create separate browser profiles:     If you do research very often , you can set up a few browser profiles to match your work needs and block several website that might cause a distraction. It will help you stay focused or your research.

5) Block certain websites:     Go to your web-browser tools or settings and set up a timer for a period of time you wish for websites to stay blocked. It will not allow you to go on them until the timer is up. It will prevent you from wasting time and help you stay focused.

6) Turn off the internet:     If you don’t need the internet, don’t use it.
7) Headphones/Earplugs :      Distraction can come from anywhere. Even if you follow the steps above you might be distracted by a person talking loud on the phone or the classmates watching videos on YouTube, etc… Here is a solution. Put on your headphones and turn on the radio. If you find it distracting, then put on your headphones without any music. Otherwise you can use earplugs.
8) Handle interruptions:       All the steps are no use unless you can handle interruptions. You might receive a phone call or one of your colleagues/ classmates might ask you questions. Deal with it and go back to work.
9) Distraction:     You should completely get rid of distraction. Make time for distraction. You can set aside 10-15 minutes for every hour of focused work.
Conclusion:               It’s not that hard if you really focus on your work. However, it’s not healthy constantly working without breaks. So you should allow a certain amount of distraction. It’s good to keep it balanced. Avoiding distractions and dealing  with them will help you work better.

  2. Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally, it seems as though you relied on the video to
make your point. You obviously know what youre talking about, why throw away your intelligence on just posting videos to your site
when you could be giving us something enlightening to read?
